just for an hour a day .The regular daily transmission started in
1965 as a part of All India Radio.In India,the
broadcast of free-to-air television is governed through state-owned Prasar
Baharti Corporation, with the Doordarshan group of channels being the only
broadcater. As such, cable television is the primary source of TV programming in
India. Doordarshan channel being the only broadcaster and then the emergence of private channels
started since 1995 were channels like Star news, NDTV 24*7 and other channels
come to existence.Star
news was the first-ever independent satellite news channel to hit the small

other industry, there’s competition in this industry too. Were the Monopoly
types of market changes to Oligopoly now there were more than one news
channels. The viewer today does not have to wait for ‘that half hour of news’
sandwiched between the soaps of an entertainment channel. Instead, they could
just switch to an NDTV 24x7 or a Star News for some fresh, up-to-date news
about the happenings around the world. Slowly regional news channels
came to existence like Telugu
